      Tasks to complete for review for Computer/Internet
 The object of working with a computer is to accomplish a task you have set out upon whether that task is word processing, searching the Internet, changing a photo, etc.
  To help you self-access your progress, you should not only be able to answer questions, but more importantly, you need to be able to get done what you want to accomplish on the computer.
   Test yourself by doing these tasks:
 
1. Open a photograph in Lview Pro or other graphics software. Zoom in on the image-then zoom out. Determine what graphic software you have on your computer and what you can do with it.
2. Copy an article from Web and send to someone in Outlook Express or other email client
3. Search for travel information on Grand Canyon using search engine
4. How do you find online Washington Post from Yahoo.com web directory?
5. If you are traveling to Florida in Feb., how would you find weather forecast?
6. How would you find a map if you had a friend’s address?
7. Open the Control Panel. Find information about your system.
8. Find how much space if free on your hard drive.
9. View the information on a CD. View the information on a floppy.
10. Change the font and font size in a document.
11. Create a shortcut to one of your favorite web sites on your desktop
12. Find a good picture of a spring flower in Google or Yahoo images search
13. Open 2 programs that deal with word processing. How are they different?
14. Look at where you remove programs correctly in Windows. Just open but only remove a program if you are sure what it is and if it needs to be removed.
15. Find a video on your computer or on the Web and play it.
16. Create a new folder in My Documents for your computer tips. Move your computer tip files to this folder. or create a folder under Documents for whatever you might want to organize your files.
17. Open an Adobe Acrobat reader file (.pdf file) and zoom in to change size of viewed font. Print out one page only.
18. Run disk cleanup on your computer. Update and run your antivirus. Run anti-spyware software like Spybot Search and Destroy. What other utilities are on your computer? How do you find them?
19. Send a file to a floppy.
20. Find the speed of the processor on your computer and how much memory you have through My Computer or Windows Explorer. Using Control Panel, find what hardware is on your computer.
21. Open Control Panel. Change time before screen saver comes on.
22.  Open a program that plays video or audio.
23.  Insert a picture into a document and change its size.
24. Move and resize a window.
25. Copy text from an article on a newspaper web site like CNN (www.cnn.com) and paste it into an email.
26.  Create tables in a document and add a picture and text.
